Nikolaikirche
The Nikolaikirche was built in 1358. It was consecrated by Reutlingen's guilds to Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of sailors and travelers. The Nikolaikirche survived the terrible city fire of 1726 almost undamaged, although the fire had started very near to it. Since 1996, the Nikolaikirche has been the location of the “Vesperkirche”, a five-week program in January/February each year at which food is provided for the needy and those who wish to show their solidarity. Since June 2005, the Nikolaikirche has been open to people the whole year as the Citykirche Reutlingen outside the “Vesperkirche” period.
